Eco-friendly paper?

While digital technology continues to expand its influence, and all-digital technology becomes the norm, we remain faithful to paper, not only because we know the pleasure of reading a beautiful medium, but also because we are convinced that paper has solid eco-responsible arguments.

We have chosen PEFC-labeled paper to guarantee sustainable forest management: trees are planted and replanted in such a way as to guarantee supply without depleting natural resources.

Our magazine is 100% recyclable: we use acrylic varnish on the cover. Recycling paper reduces waste and the consumption of raw materials.
We print in the Alps, in a short circuit: in less than two hours’ drive, our magazines arrive at their distribution site. Our printer holds the Imprim’Vert label, for greater respect for the environment.

Our Altus magazines are “keeper” magazines: we know that you’ll take them home with you, and that they’ll live on for many years in your library, without any CO2 emissions… Unlike e-mails and data stored on servers: if the Internet were a country, it would be the world’s third largest consumer of electricity, after China and the USA!

So yes, as long as we live, we pollute, but we’re doing everything we can to reduce our impact on the environment as much as possible, while offering you the best possible reading comfort.

FUSALP, A HISTORY OF STYLE AND PERFORMANCE

Founded in 1952 in Annecy by two artisan tailors, Georges Ribola and René Veyrat, Fusalp has been at the crossroads of fashion and skiing ever since. Experimenting with fabrics and materials, the founders decided to apply their know-how to skiwear. This led to the creation of a new style of ski pants, comfortable, stretchy and elegant: the now iconic spindle. This technical know-how has been handed down from generation to generation, and has been enriched over the years by the stylistic signature of inventive women. Between heritage and modernity, Artistic Director Mathilde Lacoste perpetuates innovation by playing with the house’s historic codes to create ever more fashionable and contemporary collections. DARE THE ECLIPSE!

You discovered the famous Éclipse black run at the Courchevel-Méribel 2023 World Ski Championships. You’ve heard the champions describe it as fearsome and demanding, and you’re dying to test it out, but dreading it at the same time? Far from being insurmountable, this challenge awaits you! This winter, the ESF in Courchevel 1650 is offering sensation-hungry skiers the chance to gently tame the Eclipse during a half-day discovery session. You’ll learn all about its technical features and key passages before taking to the slopes. You’ll experience a vertiginous descent of over three kilometers, culminating in the final wall!

FIFTEEN YEARS OF ART AT THE SUMMIT

Every winter, this exhibition of large-format sculptures returns to the resort with the aim of making art accessible to as many people as possible. Works of art are displayed on the slopes and throughout the resort. In 15 years, L’Art au sommet has welcomed some of the biggest names in the art world: Salvador Dali, Michel Bassompierre, Richard Orlinski and Lorenzo Quinn, renowned painters and sculptors with monumental creations.
For this 15th edition, the works of Jiménez Deredia, an internationally acclaimed Costa Rican artist, will be on display at the summit of La Vizelle, on the La Croisette snowfront, and in the squares of Courchevel 1850: eight colossal sculptures with sensual curves that invite visitors to explore their spirituality as they stroll through the resort.

WAVE OF NOVELTIES AT AQUAMOTION

A lot of changes are coming this winter with the change in operation of Aquamotion. The water park is now directly managed by the municipality via a public industrial and commercial establishment (EPIC). New decor and ambience for the spa, which offers a different menu for a different treatment and well-being experience, in partnership with the Codage brand. ARNAUD JERALD, THE CALL OF THE DEEP

At 27, he already holds eight freediving world records. French athlete Arnaud Jerald has become an ambassador for the Club des Sports de Courchevel in 2022. He plans to return to the resort every winter to train and coach athletes in breathing control.
At a depth of 120 meters, his heart beats between 15 and 20 beats per minute and his lungs are the size of an orange.
