Altitude has never been as alluring or as captivating. The last bastion of freedom, the mountains provide the opportunity to escape, far from the hectic pace of daily life. Nature reveals itself in all its strength, inviting humility and authenticity. This makes the mountains a perfect place for reunions, whether with family or friends. Some have childhood memories in their cherished resort, creating a sense of belonging. Everyone comes seeking the unforgettable, those precious moments that are only lived at high altitudes.
The mountains are a muse, inspiring athletes and artists alike, like the photographers we followed on the quest for peaks above 4,000 meters in this issue. They skillfully capture moments of rare intensity. More than just a vacation destination, the mountains offer a multi-faceted experience. Skiing and the joys of gliding remain essential, but other challenges and ways to enjoy the altitude exist as well. Everyone, at their own pace, draws from the range of activities available, based on their aspirations.
Like the high-altitude guides we met in this issue, adaptability is the hallmark of mountaineers. To the ever-changing climate, visitor expectations, and current trends. From this positive synergy emerge new projects, new inspirations, and other ways to reinvent a dynamic ecosystem. Everyone plays a role in this change. Interactions between locals, vacationers, and professionals spark unexplored paths, gradually shaping a new version of the mountains – a living, vibrant mountain that remains true to its roots, with eyes set on the future.

Avoriaz, Taking a Step Further in Environmental Preservation

With the support of the company Takeair, the tourism office of Avoriaz is initiating an innovative project: the first complete carbon assessment for a ski resort. This analysis takes into account the impact of shops, accommodations, services, and other activities in the resort, with the goal of defining a strategy to reduce emissions.
In line with national decarbonization directives, the pedestrian resort aims to reduce its ecological footprint and become a model for sustainability. Once completed, the assessment will be made public.
This initiative is part of Avoriaz’s commitment to environmental responsibility.

A NEW HOMAGE CUVÉE

“Esprit de famille,” a trilogy of grape varieties from the Jean Perrier estate, has just been created. It pays homage to the pioneers of the Wines of Savoie and is also a nod to the seventh generation of the family. This range includes three distinct vintages: a Mondeuse red wine dedicated to Jean Perrier, the founder, a Chignin-Bergeron white wine in honor of his wife, Adèle, and finally, a Roussette de Savoie dedicated to Alexandre, the fruit of the seventh generation. These transgenerational cuvées come from specific vineyards, with only 3,000 bottles of each produced.

THE CLUB, LOUNGE BAR IN THE HEART OF MORZINE

A new concept took shape in December 2023 at the renowned restaurant La Chamade! The establishment unveiled its cocktail bar lounge, The Club, nestled in its basements, echoing its past. Once a nightclub run by previous generations, this space resurrects the festive and intimate spirit of the place, reinvented for today’s audience. Open from 5 PM to 2 AM, the bar welcomes live artists every evening (except Monday) in a lounge atmosphere, with a rotating weekly program. The modern and warm decor invites guests to unwind, whether for après-ski drinks or an aperitif before heading upstairs to dine at the restaurant. The diverse and original menu features a wide selection of house cocktails!
