Marron glacé

A warm, comforting hue, evocative of nature and gourmandise, brown takes advantage of winter to show off all its nuances. From brown to golden caramel, chestnut, hazelnut, taupe and cocoa, brown stretches to flirt with orange or burgundy in cognac or terracotta tones. Leather and wood are its closest allies, in a reassuringly chic natural symbiosis. Easy to live with, this palette of browns blends perfectly with contrasting white and black, and can easily be combined with brighter shades.

Iconics

Chairs and armchairs are an inexhaustible source of inspiration for designers, who have continued to create ergonomic, aesthetic and innovative seating throughout the 20th century. Some have become icons, propelling their designers into the history books, and retaining a place of choice in our interiors. Other pieces, undoubtedly even more avant-garde, were not necessarily convincing at the time of their release, but have gone on to enjoy success in new editions. This year, several brands are offering special collections in limited editions, enough to give your interior a resolutely designer look.

In praise of minimalism

Just as in architecture and interior design, the minimalist trend is making inroads into the world of decoration, with furniture pieces that are ever more streamlined. And yet, underneath this extreme simplicity lies true sophistication. Going for the essential reveals the talent of the designer, the craftsman and the beauty of the material. Never ceasing to push back technical limits and play with constraints, they design objects as authentic sculptures for living.
